Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation

The Robert Nelson Foundation has provided a $5,000.00 grant to Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation. The LAPD Reserve Corps originated during WWII to supplement officer shortages. Today, with staffing levels below 10,000 officers and recent budget cuts, Reserve Officers are more critical than ever. These fully trained, sworn peace officers volunteer their time, working alongside full-time officers in patrol, investigations, SWAT, cold cases, and during citywide emergencies. Currently, the 360-member Reserve Corps contributes over 80,000 volunteer hours annually, saving the city nearly $2 million. The LAPR will also be assisting with responsibilities associated with safety for the LA Olympics in 2028. The foundation is proud to help such a great cause.
