Homes for Heroes 

Over the past several years, the generosity of the Wise community has helped hundreds of veterans in the Los Angeles area feel at home in new, permanent housing after being homeless. Through the work with Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH), the program assists vets with new furniture, appliances, and amenities that truly make them feel at home. The Robert Nelson Foundation was honored to help our nation’s veterans with a gift of ten thousand dollars to help this great program.

Readers to Leaders

The Readers to Leaders program impacts hundreds of students in grades K-8 from low-income communities and at-risk environments across Los Angeles with free literacy activities that help prevent summer learning loss. The Robert Nelson Foundation provided a gift of thirty-five thousand dollars to this wonderful program.

The Hollywood Police Activities League is an organization specifically designed to integrate the LAPD Hollywood Division and Community Relations. The overall mission is to drive positive change through officer and volunteer-led programs and activities, ultimately strengthening the community.” The Robert Nelson Foundation is honored to have given a gift of $10,000.00 to the HPAL to encourage and support the wonderful officers of the LAPD and the great work that they do each day.

The LAPD-Hollywood Precinct recently provided a special holiday shopping experience for the children in the community. The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to support such a great event and the wonderful officers in the LAPD.

The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to announce a $15,000 grant to the Food Bank of Southern California based in Long Beach. Every year, The Foodbank of Southern California provides between 45 and 60 million pounds of food to over 825,000 individuals who live in the poorest areas of Los Angeles County. Mr. Nelson had a heart to give to those who need help the most and the Foodbank of Southern California fits with his vision to accomplish that goal.
